♥The two things I enjoyed on this trip was lunch. I also like the view that was as wonderful as a life time of Nerds. One thing I would change would be getting on the boat. The other thing I would change would be not getting my Nerds taken away!!!♥
Lake Mead is as blue as the sky in the afternoon.
Lake Meads water is as salty as my aunts cooking.
Lake Mead is as big as the moon.
♥Today I learned about characters, plot, and setting. Characters are the people and things that take part in a story. Plot are the important events in order. Setting is when and where a story takes place. An example of all three would be the characters of Cat In The Hat are Sally, Conard, and the cat. The plots is the cat comes, he saids they’ll have fun, he messes up the house, they tell him to leave but he comes back nd cleans the house. The setting is present day and in a little town.♥
Did you know black history month just started off has a Negro History Week in the 1920′s. In attempt of the ignorance of distorted views people had about black history, Dr. Carter Godwin Woodson started to organize lectures, exhibitions, and meetings. He did this hoping people would take black history more seriously. His idea worked and Negro History Week turned into the whole month of February. The month is now used to celebrate the history of African-Americans.
I think people should get more educated about black history. I think this because
most know when it is but they don’t know whats it about or how it got started. The blacks have been through lots and people should give thanks to them because if it wasn’t for them the world may have never became what it is today. People like Martin L. King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X., Rudy Dee and many more are important to black history month, just to name some.
The person I adored is Ruby Dee. She is a famous actress, and activist. She went to school and graduated with degrees in French and Spanish. She worked hard because she know what she wanted to do and stuck to it. She performed in many Broadway shows and stared in many movies, such as The Jackie Robinson Story, and A Raisin in the Sun. I really think people should know.
♥Today on Compass Learning, I learned about author’s purpose. I learned that authors purpose is why the author is writing about some thing. The reasons they can write about is to inform, persuade, entertain or to describe. That is what I learned today. One example of authors purpose is if I wrote you a letter telling how to get to my house the purpose is to inform.♥

♥My $30 million idea is to invent a computer that is hooked to a oven and microwave that makes anything you typed into the computer. First, you type in a name of the food in the computer. Then, a recipe will pop up and it will get sent to the oven witch will make it. If the food is something that needs to be microwaved then the recipe gets sent to the microwave.
I think my idea is worth $30 million dollars because when people come home from work they may be tired. All the have to do then is type in the food they want and it will be made for them. I also think this a great idea because people will only have to buy the machine and they will not have to spend money on the food that they want. I think most restaurants might not like my idea because they will not be getting money for their food. Well that’s my $30 million idea.♥

♥I think I did good on most of my test. I liked reading the passages then answering the questions because the answer was in the text and all I had to do was look back at the text. My least favorite thing was reading the super long passages that were really boring. I think I could have read the passages over so I could have understood it more.♥
